Friends, you already know how important education is in our lives, without good education and good values; you cannot do anything in your life. Life does not give everyone a chance to live life according to their own ease; it has to be made according to our own needs, for this you will have to be educated.
There is no age to learn and there is no person in this world who can say that I know everything. Every person learns something every day, if you are learning something, then you will make some mistakes, no human being knows anything without making a mistake.

In Lucknow, the city of Nawabs, the tone of the people speaking here touches the heart; there is a different sweetness in the language here, a different sense of belonging, a different atmosphere.
Let me tell you about one such college which is famous not only in India but also in whole Asia, I am talking about IT College whose full name is Isabella Thoburn College. Lucky for Lucknow, there is Isabella Thoburn College from where many educated people have passed out and illuminated the name of their city, Lucknow and their country all over the world.
When did this college start?
Majrooh Sultanpuri wrote a sher “I walked alone Janib-e-Manzil and people came along and became caravan”, his sher fits right to the beginning of this college.
At the time of 1866, there was neither good education nor any arrangement for the girls to study nor did the family allowed such thing. Meanwhile, there was a man named Bishop Jiren who wanted here the girls to be educated and touch the height of their dreams, to stand on their feet and could do something for their family members and for the society and with their passion and desire could establish an identity for themselves in the society. If someone wants to do something for you, then s/he must recognize the talent within you. In the same way, Bishop Jiren’s eyes recognized the desire to study within the girls of Lucknow, he saw the passion within the girls to move forward in their life. So, he immediately wrote a letter to his sister Isabella Thoburn who lived in America. In his letter, he told her about the talent of these girls and proposed to open a school here.

Isabella Thoburn read her brother’s letter very carefully and accepted his proposal. And his effort fulfilled the dream of Asia’s first women Christian college.
The college started on 18 April 1870 in a small house in Aminabad, the busiest marketplace in Lucknow. When college started, Isabella Thoburn urged people to send their daughters to study in this school so that they can fulfil their dreams and stand on their feet, but the people refused. After a lot of convincing, only 6 girls enrolled in this school, 3 of them got their name out of school after few days.
Nevertheless, Isabella Thoburn did not lose her courage; she maintained her passion of educating the girls. After 1 year of the beginning of this school, she bought a kothi in Lalbagh with 14 thousand silver coins; this kothi was the court of the last Nawab of Awadh. Gradually the attitude of people started to change and the number of girls studying there started to rise in the school, the journey of college continued for 16 years. When people began to change their attitude towards girl education, they started enrolling their daughters in school and then a passion was born within the girls to study further. Then Isabella Thoburn felt the need for higher educational institution here. This thought of her gave birth to a new institute in Lucknow. On 12 July 1886, whose foundation was laid in the name of “The Lucknow Women College”.
In 1894, this college partnered with Allahabad University and 3 year courses became part of this college. Isabella died in 1901, after which “The Lucknow Women College” was renamed as “Isabella Thoburn College” in her memory.
In 1902, five students graduated from this college, followed by Teacher’s Training Classes in 1903. Lucknow University was established in 1922, after which Isabella Thoburn College became part of Lucknow University. It was the first college to be affiliated by Lucknow University.
