About Dilkusha Kothi :
Dilkusha Kothi is the remains of an 18th-century house built by the British resident Major Gore Ouseley, a friend of Nawab Saadat Ali Khan. Built-in English baroque style in the quiet part of Lucknow, it is a place that offers a peek into the lifestyle of ancient times. Only a few towers and external walls of the main building remain, although the extensive gardens are still thriving. Built around 1800, it was initially meant to be a hunting lodge for the Nawabs of Oudh and was later used as a summer resort. The walls of the building were patterned; surprisingly, there was no inner courtyard within the house as per the norms of traditional Indian architecture. There is a Seaton Delaval Hall here, which resembles the style of Seaton Delaval Hall in Northumberland, England.
